Chess/Scrabble

Welcome to the SOTA Chess School!

When you study at the SOTA chess school, you are assured of high-quality chess lessons and responsible training programs.

Our students fall in the age range of 6–13.

This is why chess is special. It can cross boundaries and appeal to all ages. We all need the ability to solve challenges because that’s what life is all about. SOTA offers chess instruction and regional chess tournaments including prices, a biannual all-girls tournament, all boy’s tournament, old versus young chess camps, among others.

SOTA’s mission is to enrich the lives, concentration and intelligence of children from all backgrounds. Through chess, a child learns tactics, calculation, visualisation, openings, the art of analysis, techniques and, of course, winning.

We provide other chess courses, which are available for all age groups. At SOTA, we follow a professional program of study and training in chess.

One of the best chess players in the world is Magnus Carlsen. At the age of 13 years, 4 months and 26 days, Magnus Carlsen became the youngest chess grandmaster in the world. The international press raved about the Norwegian prodigy. The Washington Post even called him ‘the Mozart of chess’.

Tomorrow it might be you or your child...

This year’s World Youth Chess Championship takes place Dec. 17-29.
